Luxury glamping during Hay Festival

For the 10th year, we’ll be back providing accommodation during the festival in May 2024. Enjoy a warm, welcoming and relaxing stay at our exclusive glamping village, right next to the festival site.

About Hay Glamping

Thurs 22 May – Mon 2 June 2025

Hay Glamping is a pop-up site that runs for the length of the Hay Festival of Literature & Arts, 11 days during the May half term holidays every year.

Hay Festival is one of the world’s biggest and best literary festivals, and it’s right on our doorstep. We’ve been providing a glamping village to accompany the festival since 2014, with many regular visitors returning again and again for what has become a very special experience for our visitors and our team.

We hope you’ll find all the information you need on this site, but feel free to get in touch at info@glampingwales.co.uk or call Diane on 07974 000 421 with any enquiries.

Easy walking distance to the festival . We had children with us ranging from 8 to 12 and they loved the accessibility of everything.

The glamping experience

Our glamping is restorative. Stylish bell tents are well-spaced around a meadow, allowing privacy from neighbours, and plenty of space to sit outside on one of our many deckchairs to enjoy the Welsh countryside. The tents are charming with fitted floors, proper, comfortable beds, bedside tables and decent solar lighting. And our marquee bar provides a central place to socialise or just relax with a drink after a busy day on site at the festival.

Luxury tents

Combining all the best elements from our permanent Glamping site, Wye Glamping, and our festival-style glamping pop up, Starry Meadow, we’ve made our bell tents as inviting and comfortable as possible.

In our spacious, and breathable tents you’ll find comfy beds, snuggly duvets, crisp 100% cotton bedlinen and towels, and carpeted floors. Bunting and fairy lights complete the cosy atmosphere. We offer a range of tent sizes and layouts including Double, Twin, Triple and Family, so you can choose what works best for you.

Communal Marquee

On site you’ll also find a welcoming marquee, with comfy sofas and a warm atmosphere in which to relax after a busy day, or even to pop back to during the day for some respite.

You will have access to complimentary hot drinks 24hrs a day and the bar will be open during busy periods. We’ll also have a large communal firepit which we’ll be lighting most evenings.

Great facilities

We know how important hot showers and clean toilets are to the quality of your experience, so we have sourced the best, and also added the extra bonus of a pamper parlour, where you’ll find self-serve hairdryers and mirrors.

All the parking you need for the festival

Our site is very family-friendly and parking for one car per tent is included, with Hay-on-Wye and the festival site just a five minute walk away.

Diane and Tracy are absolutely wonderful; friendly, helpful and accommodating. This is the second time we’ve stayed, and we’ll definitely be coming back. The tents are lovely, extremely comfortable beds - we definitely felt looked after. Top class service yet again. Thanks so much guys!

A bit about us

Hay Glamping is run by Diane, Al and the team at Glamping Wales. Already experienced at running the highly successful Wye Glamping, they began running Hay Glamping in 2014 to help meet the demand for accommodation at the nearby Hay Literature Festival. The aim was to provide as close an experience to the one provided at Wye Glamping as possible, but on a pop up site. The team have been running the Hay Glamping site since 2014, offering a warm welcome, cosy beds, breakfast and above all a great location for access to the festival.
